Belmont Primary School – healthy travel to school week

Success has been celebrated at Belmont Primary School after they are the first school in Blackburn with Darwen Borough to have achieved 100% participation in the initiative ‘Healthy Travel to School Week, co-ordinated by the council’s Connect Project.

Scam phone call warning

The Council has been notified that some residents have received scam Council Tax telephone calls.

The calls come from a Blackburn number from a person who says they are calling from the Council Tax team.

Hive is Five: Blackburn business network celebrates milestone

Red Route for Furthergate

The first steps have been taken to turn Furthergate in Blackburn into a ‘Red Route’.

Red Routes use a package of measures including the red lines along the road edge, which are a clear signal to drivers to say ‘No Stopping’

Also included are a crackdown on illegally parked vehicles and dedicated loading areas for delivery vehicles.
