When 2020 began, no-one would have dreamt that we would have spent the majority of our year at home for our own safety and the serious ramifications this would bring both for people’s livelihoods and wellbeing.

Many Council services have now re-opened as the national lockdown ends.
Blackburn with Darwen has been placed under Tier 3 restrictions by the Government which means that while many shops and businesses will be able to re-open, certain areas, such as hospitality and other indoor activities, will remain closed for now.

Blackburn with Darwen Council is backing a national drive aimed at stopping online loan sharks.
Stop Loan Sharks Week 2020 runs from Monday, November 30 to Sunday, December 6 and will be used by the England Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT) to raise awareness of illegal money lending on the internet and warn of the dangers of online loan sharks.
