New link road to boost growth and housing in Darwen unveiled

New £3.5m East Darwen link road Ellison Fold Way has been officially opened.

It was unveiled in a special ceremony attended by special young guests from the nearby Sudell Primary School along with Councillors, contractors Eric Wright Civil Engineering and partners from the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership in the project.

Borough hosts first healthy weight summit

Ewood Park hosted Blackburn with Darwen’s first summit on healthy weight on Wednesday 13 March.

The ‘Making Healthy Weight Everyone’s Business’ event saw Local Government partners, including Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool Councils, join forces with Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Public Health England and the Food Active partnership – a collaborative programme made up of Public Health Directors across the North West.
