Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Bolton and Chorley councils, along with Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Lancashire Police and Greater Manchester Police, have joined together using legal powers to protect the environment and prevent wildfire devastation on moorland.

Failure to dispose of rubbish properly leads to prosecution

A woman has been ordered to pay a total of £365 for failing to dispose of rubbish properly Mrs Shugufta Patel, of Wensley Road, Blackburn was served a notice under section 80 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, which required the removal and disposal of the waste which was found close to the rear of a properly, in a legal manner.

Bulky waste collection scheme continues

Residents will have the opportunity to dispose of any of their ‘bulky’domestic rubbish free of charge this Saturday, with staff and caged vehicles on hand to at four locations throughout the morning, as the council’s free Saturday morning bulky waste collection scheme continues.
