Motorists and local residents are being advised that a series of resurfacing works will begin in the next fortnight across three locations in Blackburn and on the A666 in Darwen town centre.

Work is to start next week (w/c Monday 24 July 2023) on a new car park at Blakewater Lodge, Whalley Range in Blackburn, designed to provide safer parking for those on the school-run, shoppers and visitors to the area.

Over £8million is to be invested in roads and transport services across Blackburn with Darwen, if approved by next week’s Executive Board meeting.

Local people are being asked for their views on Blackburn with Darwen’s highways and transport services – from the condition of roads and footpaths to the quality of cycling facilities.
