Bootstrap helping residents step by step

A local organisation has helped vulnerable adults within the borough gain employment and further training.

Based in Blackburn, Bootstraps Supported Employment Service offers practical and emotional support to clients with a disability or health condition, and helps them access further training, education, whilst also assisting them in gaining employment.

Cancer Awareness Training Session

A Cancer awareness training session is taking place in February.

Held at Darwen Town Hall on Tuesday, February 17 between 10am and 12 noon, the training will help residents learn about early detection, general signs and symptoms and screening programmes.

King George’s Hall hosted a Pennine Lancashire cancer awareness session recently.

Run by the Healthy Communities Partnership, the workshop featured interactive and informative presentations and brought together volunteers and professionals to discuss how residents of Blackburn with Darwen can best be served by cancer awareness campaigns.
