Witton Park Arena’s 1000th member has been putting the equipment through its paces, beating her weight-loss target by getting active at the state –of-the-art facility.

Michelle Pickering was set the target of losing one stone in eight weeks, and took part in two half-hour sessions every week with Tony Catterall, one of the most experienced gym consultants within the council.

Michelle was put through her paces with a tough exercise regime including spinning, box master, kettle bells and much more.

At the end of the eight weeks, Michelle has surpassed her target, losing 1 stone 3 lb.

Michelle said:

The facilities are very good, and there is a lot of support from the staff here.

It’s been fantastic,

added Michelle in recommending that residents give the facilities at Witton Park Arena a go for themselves.

The membership at Witton Park Arena has gone from strength to strength, with membership now up to around the 1400 mark.

Witton Park Arena opened last year, with the £2.3m facility including an indoor 60m track, fitness suite and studio, and is also used by Blackburn Harriers Athletics Club in coaching 100s of aspiring young athletes.
