Scam phone call warning

The Council has been notified that some residents have received scam Council Tax telephone calls.

The calls come from a Blackburn number from a person who says they are calling from the Council Tax team. The caller tells them they haven’t paid their Council Tax, threatens them with the bailiffs, and asks for their bank details.

These calls are a scam, the Council will never ask for your bank details in this way.

If you receive this type of call please don’t give out any personal information.
