Remembrance wreath laying at Blackburn and Darwen’s Cenotaphs

Commemorative wreaths have been laid at Blackburn and Darwen’s Cenotaphs to mark Remembrance Sunday.

Following social distancing restrictions, Council Leader Cllr Mohammed Khan, Chief Executive Denise Park and Mayor Iftakar Hussain each laid wreaths in memory of those who sacrificed their lives.

Blackburn and Darwen venues awarded grant from Government’s Culture Recovery Fund

King George’s Hall and Darwen Library Theatre have been awarded £364,000 as part of the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund (CRF) to help face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure they have a sustainable future, the Culture Secretary has announced today.
