Jayne Ivory has started as new Director of Children’s Services at Blackburn with Darwen Council.
Jayne started her career 31 years ago as an assistant social worker at Lancashire County Council, before being given the chance to undertake a postgraduate diploma in social work at Lancaster University.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service wants people to stay away from the area – which stretches from Rivington Pike to Horrocks Moor – for their own safety and to prevent more fires.

Currently, people who have a Disabled NoWCard pay a flat fare of 50p to travel on local weekday bus journeys before 9.30am.
