Council staff provide friendly face of contact tracing in borough

Contact tracing is seen as a vitally important part of controlling the spread of Covid-19.

In recent months NHS Test and Trace has sought partnerships with local authorities to support the national system, passing through details of people who have been infected with the virus and asking them to make further contact.

Local civic leaders respond to tier three announcement

Blackburn with Darwen Council leaders have released a joint statement as the Government confirmed today that it will be imposing tier three restrictions on Blackburn with Darwen – as well as the whole of Lancashire – after the national lockdown ends.

Remembrance wreath laying at Blackburn and Darwen’s Cenotaphs

Commemorative wreaths have been laid at Blackburn and Darwen’s Cenotaphs to mark Remembrance Sunday.

Following social distancing restrictions, Council Leader Cllr Mohammed Khan, Chief Executive Denise Park and Mayor Iftakar Hussain each laid wreaths in memory of those who sacrificed their lives.
