Today the seven men found guilty of the murder of Blackburn student Aya Hachem have been jailed for a combined total of 216 years.

Following today’s verdict in the Aya Hachem murder trial, we have issued the following statement.
Cllr Mohammed Khan CBE, Leader of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, said:
We have been incredibly saddened to hear the detail of what happened throughout the court case and our thoughts remain with Aya’s family and friends.

An imposing 27 feet tall sculpture will be on display in Blackburn during November, bringing with it a month-long education programme around knife crime.
