A number of reports have been received by the Council about businesses such as pubs and cafes allowing their customers to use outside seating areas for consuming food or drinks.

We are aware of the issue around people fly-tipping waste on the Council-owned car parks in Ewood and are grateful to members of the public for also raising this problem with us.

Blackburn’s Central library’s main entrance is to close until further notice, as conservation work continues.
From Wednesday the 7th May the Town Hall Street entrance to the Library will close and all access to the building will be via the Northgate entrance.

A new £2.3m community athletics facility at Witton Park, Blackburn, has opened. The Council is delighted to have been awarded £150,000 from Sport England’s Inspired Facilities Fund.
Martin Eden, director of Leisure, Culture and Young People at Blackburn with Darwen Council, welcomed the news and said: “We are delighted we have secured £150,000 of funding for the borough’s sport facilities.
