The Regional Fostering Recruitment and Retention Hub, created as part of a £1.2m successful regional bid between Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackpool Council, Cumberland Council, Westmorland and Furness Council, and Lancashire County Council to boost foster care recruitment in the region.

Five local authorities are set to receive Department for Education funding of more than £1m to boost foster carer recruitment in the region, to help provide stable family homes to more children.

Foster Care Fortnight is running from Monday 9 May until Sunday 22 May this year.
This year’s theme is ‘fostering communities’ and The Fostering Network hope to shine a light on the many ways people across the fostering community support each other.

Every day 123 foster families from across Blackburn with Darwen are giving 246 fostered children and young people a loving, secure and stable home and this commitment has been ongoing throughout the pandemic.
