New independent senior doctors review of death certification starts next week

The government has confirmed all deaths in any health setting that are not investigated by a coroner will be reviewed by an independent senior doctor, known as a Medical Examiner.

Blackburn with Darwen to mark World Suicide Prevention Day with a special vigil and a community walk

People in Blackburn and Darwen are invited to come together on Tuesday, September 10 to give hope, raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding suicide, to help people feel supported and heard to reduce instances of suicide in our borough.

New Growth initiative will establish film and TV production hub in Blackburn

In an ambitious move to bolster the film and television production landscape in Lancashire, the University of Central Lancashire has announced a strategic partnership with local industry stakeholders to establish a vibrant screen production hub in Blackburn with Darwen.
More schools take advantage of walking or wheeling to school

Following it’s launch in January, 16 primary schools in the borough are now taking part in a project to get students walking or wheeling to school, with excellent results.
