Coronavirus testing available at Corporation Park again today

Coronavirus testing is available at Corporation Park again today (August 13) to complement the other testing units available elsewhere in Blackburn with Darwen.

The testing site is situated close to the gatehouse on Preston New Road and will be available from 10.30am to 6pm.

Entrance for vehicles is on West Park Road and the exit leads out onto Preston New Road. Pedestrians can access from Preston New Road.

People travelling to the testing centre are being encouraged to walk or cycle there if possible, to ensure safety of pedestrians in the park and minimise traffic issues in the area

Testing at Audley Sports Centre and Old Bank Lane outside Royal Blackburn Hospital remains in place.

Everyone in Blackburn with Darwen is now being encouraged to get tested, you don’t need to have symptoms of coronavirus.

You will just need to register beforehand online or call 119. It takes about 5 mins to do.

Once registered you will get a code. If attending Corporation Park, Audley Sports Centre or Old Bank Lane, please take this with you so staff can attach it to your test.

Anyone driving to a test site is reminded to keep their car windows closed until the staff ask you to open them.

Parents and carers will be asked to administer to children under the age of 11.

Corporation Park will be open as usual for visitors while the testing centre is in operation. Park users are asked to avoid accessing the area designated for the testing units.
