Residents in Blackburn with Darwen are being asked for their views on improving the borough’s Highways and Transport Services by taking part in a number of surveys.

Each year, the National Highways and Transport Agency issue surveys that allow the public to have their say on which services they think their local Council should prioritise and improve, from public transport to road safety and congestion too.

The results will be shared with our teams of officers at the council to enable us to find out what you think about the borough’s infrastructure, helping us to maintain and improve the conditions of our roads, footpaths and cycling facilities.

It will also allow us to assess how we are performing by comparing results to 110 other local authorities across England and Scotland. This will allow us to seek and share best practice and identify opportunities to work together.

Councillor Quesir Mahmood, Executive Member for Highways said:

Our infrastructure is one of the most important assets we have as it allows people who live and work here to get about their daily business successfully. Receiving feedback on it is crucial. We are committed to understanding your views, to help understand your needs and ensure we are delivering services successfully. This survey together with other condition report’s will help us formulate our improvement plans.  I would urge you to take part in this survey to ensure your views are heard.

Mark Berry, Asset Manager at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, said:

The results of the survey are used to help guide how we make decisions. The information gathered can help us deliver continuous improvement in the services we provide aligned with your views and feedback. Responses to the survey are greatly welcomed as we wish to gather as much information and responses from as many areas as possible to gain a broad, inclusive and diverse insight into your views as our customers.

The results will be published in October 2024.
