Residents in Blackburn with Darwen should keep an eye out for their new recycling and bin collection guides which will be posted through doors over the coming weeks.
The guide features a calendar of bin collection dates from August 2021 to July 2022 which can be pulled out and saved to remind you when your collections are due. The guides also have useful tips on what you can and can’t put in each bin.
For more information on recycling you can also visit the new Recycle BwD website, which is packed full of useful hints and tips about waste and recycling in Blackburn with Darwen. There’s a handy guide for each bin, A-Z lists of what goes where, help on what to do if your bin is contaminated and more. There’s also useful video guides and the option to access the website in different languages too.
Bin collection dates are also available on the Council’s website – just enter your address details to get a personalised bin collection calendar for your home
Councillor Jim Smith, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council’s Executive Member for Environment said:
Don’t forget to save your calendar somewhere safe, so that you know when your bin collections are due, and please remember to recycle as much waste as you can, to help the borough reach its target of recycling 50% of all waste by 2025. By recycling our waste properly we can all help to reduce our impact on the environment.
