The Council has issued a latest update on coronavirus testing in Blackburn with Darwen, as the Christmas opening times of our testing sites are announced.

If you develop any symptoms of coronavirus you should self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible.

Appointments are available at our testing sites across the borough, including walk up appointments for all those who are symptomatic at Railway Road in Darwen and at Blackburn College.

Booking first is still advised but if you are having problems accessing appointments with the national online system you can get tested without registering first online.

Just walk up to either site during their hours of operation, 8am–8pm, seven days a week. Please follow public health guidelines around social distancing and face coverings when onsite.

Appointments for the permanent testing site outside the Royal Blackburn Hospital are available via the national system.

All sites will continue to operate over Christmas. The walk-in sites at Darwen and Blackburn College will open 8am-8pm on Christmas Eve, 9am-3pm on Christmas Day and Monday 28th (Boxing Day bank holiday replacement), 8am-8pm on New Years Eve and 9am-3pm on New Years Day.

The Royal Blackburn Hospital site will open: 8am-5pm on Christmas Eve, 9am-3pm on Christmas Day and Monday 28th, 8am-5pm on New Years Eve and 9am-3pm on New Years Day.

You can register and book a test online or call 119. The registration process takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. This provides you with an appointment.

The Council has updated its website with the latest information which is being regularly reviewed and updated.
