Blackburn with Darwen Council is supporting Mental Health Awareness Week, taking place all this week.
As part of the week, the Council is highlighting its upcoming 5 Ways to Wellbeing campaign.
The Council and its partners will put the 5 Ways to Wellbeing front and centre of the new five-week campaign launching next Monday, May 17 until Sunday, June 20.
Throughout the five weeks the 5 Ways will be used to promote various local services and activities, delivered by a range of partners, that are designed to make people feel good and function well.
A timetable of activities happening across the borough during each week is now available online.
Find an activity to attend, either online or in person, follow the link to the host organisation’s booking process and sign up.
As well as promoting the upcoming campaign, the council is also using Mental Health Awareness Week to signpost people to a range of mental health organisations, services and projects that are available to residents of the borough.
A curated list of local and national support has been uploaded here.
More services and resources are also available here and here.
Dominic Harrison, Director of Public Health, said:
Covid has been really tough and it has stopped us from doing lots of things we enjoy and would normally do.
So we want to encourage people to explore all the opportunities in our borough that can positively impact their wellbeing.
We all need a bit of that at the moment. So this campaign and its programme of activities are designed to encourage people to take up something new, or do more of something they already do, because it feels good and it has a positive effect on their mood.
