Residents will have the opportunity to dispose of any of their ‘bulky’domestic rubbish free of charge this Saturday, with staff and caged vehicles on hand to at four locations throughout the morning, as the council’s free Saturday morning bulky waste collection scheme continues.
On Saturday, November 1, the vehicles will be on Oozehead Lane and Devonport Road between 9am and 10am, while later on residents can dispose of their rubbish, with staff on hand St Aidan’s Avenue and Bonsall Street between 10.45 and 11.45am.
The free collection service will run across Blackburn with Darwen in to early January 2015, with more locations to be announced.
Examples of the types of rubbish that can be disposed of are carpets, broken furniture and general bagged rubbish, whilst items such as plasterboard and asbestos roofing will not be accepted.
