There is now a one stop shop online for all your health and wellbeing needs – whatever stage of life you are at.
The Be Well website contains links to services provided through Blackburn with Darwen Public Health designed to help and support people in the borough.
These include childcare, breastfeeding, mental health services, young people’s services, the Help Hub, financial wellbeing and support, the Blackburn with Darwen Food Resilience Alliance, drug and alcohol services, climate change issues, weight management, sexual health, smoking cessation and much more.
It has sections for each stage of life you are at – called Start Well, Live Well, Age Well.
The website can be found at: www.bewellbwd.com and is designed for all residents in Blackburn with Darwen.
It will be regularly updated with information, resources and service updates and blog posts and news items.
GPs, other health professionals and health workers will also use the website to signpost patients and service users to what is available to help to promote better health across the two towns.
Councillor Damian Talbot, Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing, said:
After a very challenging few years for residents, we needed to have an area where all aspects of health were in one place.
We are committed to improving the wellbeing of people in Blackburn with Darwen and making sure they have the right information to support them is a really important part of that.
Having the right support in place at the right time can have a really positive impact on both the physical and mental health of people and I would encourage everyone to take a look at the new website and see what it has to offer.”
Dominic Harrison, Blackburn with Darwen’s Director of Public Health, said:
The pandemic has taken its toll on everyone in different ways and health and wellbeing is more important now than ever. This website has all the resources under one roof for all our residents to access the support they need.
We want to lead the way in health and wellbeing in Blackburn with Darwen and this is another step towards that goal. Together with our partners we are working towards a healthier and happier borough.”
