The event will be the grand finale of a campaign to recognise outstanding local women. It also marks 80 years since Barbara Castle was first elected as Blackburn’s MP.

On the night, the prestigious Barbara Castle Woman of the Year Award will be presented to one exceptional individual who embodies her pioneering spirit. The overall winner will be chosen from the women nominated in the ‘Roll of Honour’.

Tickets are now available for what promises to be an inspiring evening of celebration, entertainment, and reflection at Ewood Park.

The evening will feature:

✔ Entertainment from TV star and comedian Kiki deVille, adding a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere to the night.

✔ A two-course meal, celebrating Blackburn’s diverse culinary heritage

✔ The unveiling of the Barbara Castle Woman of the Year Award, honouring one remarkable woman from the Blackburn Roll of Honour.

Cllr Elaine Whittingham, who is helping to organise the event, said: “This is about recognising and celebrating the inspirational women in our community – those who lead, innovate, and make a difference, no matter how big or seemingly small that may be.

“We encourage everyone to get involved, whether by nominating someone for the Role of Honour or joining us at Ewood Park for what promises to be a fantastic evening.”

As sponsors of the event, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust is proud to be part of this celebration of local women.

Gary Robinson, Head of the Community Trust said: “Women play an essential role in every part of our community, including in sport, leadership, and business.
