Your chance to shape the future

The last couple of years have been incredibly tough for the borough.

As a community, however, we really have pulled together to come back stronger.

We are now looking forward to an exciting and prosperous future for Blackburn with Darwen.

All residents, businesses, volunteers and partner organisations are now invited to say what matters most to you as we move into a post-pandemic world.

We want to hear from you, local people, to help develop a plan for the Council and the borough for the next four years.

We are keen to know what the issues are so we can work with our communities to come up with solutions to address them.

As such, the Council has launched a ‘Residents Survey’ to find out people’s views.

We will use the feedback to shape the Council’s priorities and create a plan to help improve the lives of residents’ in the borough, support businesses as well as deliver high quality services.

Leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council, Councillor Phil Riley, said:

“Our borough has been through a lot over the last two years but I have seen our communities coming together to be stronger than ever.

As we look to the future, may I take this opportunity to encourage all residents to have their say to shape the future of our borough going forward.

Now is the time to say what matters, so that we can focus on how to meet those aspirations in the coming years”.

Both deputy Leaders of the Council also urge local residents to have their say.

Councillor Julie Gunn, said:

“’We want Blackburn with Darwen to be a vibrant borough that serves the needs of our children and families, and where our young people are proud to call home. The best way for us to know what that looks like is for you to have your say and tell us your priorities.  So, I would like to encourage as many young people and their families as possible to take part in this survey. That way, we can try to direct our resources towards your needs and your ambitions for our borough”.

Councillor Quesir Mahmood said:

“I would encourage residents to take part in the survey and provide feedback on the councils services and our growth plan for the borough”.

The link to the survey can be found here: https://bit.ly/tellBwD  and is open until 24th June.

There’s even a prize draw with 2 x £150 shopping vouchers, pantomime tickets and a year’s free gym membership up for grabs.

You may also receive a phone call asking you to complete the survey over the phone. If the researcher calls at a time not convenient, they will happily phone back at a mutually convenient time.

Thank you and we look forward to a bright future together
