During drowning prevention week, swimming lessons run by Blackburn with Darwen Council covered aspects of water safety.
Beginners were learning to fall in and float on their backs with more advanced swimmers learning to tread water and swim in clothes to help keep themselves safe.
They have also been learning what to do if they see someone in trouble in the water and a lifeguard isn’t present.
