The Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Councillor Suleman Khonat, is inviting people to take part in a charity walk this Saturday.

All residents are invited to meet at Witton Park Arena on Saturday, July 16th with the walk starting at 10.30am. The walk will help raise money for the Mayor’s chosen charities which include East Lancashire Hospice, Anaphylaxis Awareness and Nightsafe.

The event is a gentle two mile ‘tootle’ and is open to anyone to come along with family and friends. You can turn up on the day from 10am.

The charity is very close to the heart of the Mayoress who sadly lost her Mother to cancer in 2014. East Lancashire Hospice is where she where she spent her last days.

Mayoress Reyhana Khonat who has organised the event said:

“By walking and working together we aim to raise money and awareness with local people for locally important charities. These charities have been there for many people and we would like to support them in whatever way we can”.

Anyone interested in attending can call Reyhana on: 07841634313 for more details.
