Volunteers to spread cheer on Christmas Day

Volunteers are visiting residents at both the Hospital and the Hospice on Christmas Day to give presents and spend some time with people who may not have anyone able to visit them at this special time of year.

Around 60 volunteers have offered their time on December 25 to visit both Blackburn Hospital and East Lancashire Hospice, talk to patients and give them Christmas gifts.

The aim is to spend time with those who may not otherwise have anyone to talk to on Christmas day.

The volunteers will also give gifts to staff who are working on the day to help look after people at the hospital and hospice.
