There will be disruption on the Northern Rail network in April for construction works.
This will affect both the Blackburn to Manchester via Burnley service and the Blackburn to Manchester via Bolton services.
Since October 2015, work has been taking place which will see 300 metres of new track laid to link between Manchester city centre’s main train stations (Victoria, Oxford Rd and Piccadilly) for the first time.
The impact over the Easter period will be on the Blackburn to Manchester via Burnley service and the Blackburn to Manchester via Bolton services as follows:
- Friday 14th, Saturday 15th , Monday 17th , Saturday 22nd April & Monday 1st May:
The Clitheroe to Manchester Victoria services (via Blackburn and Darwen) will terminate/start at Salford Crescent – shuttle buses will run between Salford Crescent and Manchester Victoria station.
- Sunday 16th April and Sunday, 30th April:
Clitheroe – Man Victoria service (via Blackburn and Darwen) will terminate/start from Manchester Oxford Road.
- Sunday 23rd April
Clitheroe – Man Victoria service (via Blackburn and Darwen) will terminate/start from Manchester Oxford Road.
Blackburn to Manchester Victoria via Burnley/Todmorden will not operate – buses will operate between Man Victoria and Burnley Manchester Road via Todmorden connecting with the York – Blackpool service for travel to/from Blackburn.
