Three weeks left to register to vote in this year’s elections

Elections are taking place in Blackburn with Darwen on Thursday 2 May.

  • Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council
  • Lancashire Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) election
  • Parish/Town Council – elections are expected for Darwen Town Council.

For local residents to be able to vote in these elections, they need to be on the electoral register.

It’s quick and easy to register to vote at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

The deadline for applications to register to vote is 11.59pm Tuesday 16 April – just three weeks away.

Denise Park, Chief Executive of Blackburn with Darwen Council and Returning Officer for elections in the borough, said:

While May still feels like a long way off, there are only three weeks left to register to vote.

Being on the electoral register means you can have your say in local and national elections, and it also helps with things like credit checks.
