Terms and conditions

Take part in a short survey as part of our One Degree Challenge with the People’s Jury and you could win £250 cash and a smart thermostat for your home.

The promoter: Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council (“Council”).

How to enter and rules of entry submission:

There is no entry fee and no purchase required to enter the competition.

Entrants must follow the instructions on the competition post on the Council’s Facebook page or a partner account.

By following the instructions, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Multiple entries from the same household will be accepted.

Closing date for entry will be stipulated in the Facebook post. After that date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted, unless stated otherwise.

No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:

You must be over the age of 18 to enter.

Visit the Council’s Facebook page from February 5th to April 30th to see the full details of the One Degree Challenge giveaway.

You must complete the survey in full to be entered into the free prize draw.

The winner of the competition will be selected at random.

The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition at any stage and these terms and conditions without prior notice, if it deems necessary, or circumstances arise outside of its control.

Prize and selection of winner:

The prize includes £250 and a smart thermostat for your home, up to the value of £250. It is your responsibility to ensure the smart thermostat is compatible with your heating system.

By entering the competition, you agree to share your email address with the Council and partners running the One Degree Challenge.

The winner will be notified by email within 48 hours of the closing date.

If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.

The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry.

Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Other

The promotor will not accept:

(a) responsibility for competition entries that are incorrect, damaged or delayed regardless of cause, including, for example, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or

(b) responsibility for the entrant failing to comply with any of these terms and conditions, any terms of acceptable website use, guidance and/or other conditions, which may apply to any of Council’s websites or any other websites relating to the competition.
