Over the next month the taxi rank on Railway Road will be temporary closed whilst the area is paved and pedestrianised as works continue to progress on the forthcoming Cathedral Quarter.

The new rank will take approximately six weeks to complete with a temporary rank established at the rear of the Train Station (Vue Car Park). Other nearby ranks include High Street and Church Street.

Railway Road will remain open whilst these works are in progress however two way temporary traffic lights are in operation.

The Cathedral Quarter Development is a multimillion pound investment by Blackburn with Darwen Council to regenerate Blackburn Town Centre.

The development will see a new and modern hotel constructed within the town, flanked by two modern office blocks that will also house space for restaurants, cafés and bars
