Popular stall is moving due to expansion
Tease Your Tastebuds has relocated from Darwen Market Annexe to a newly refurbished unit within the main Market Hall due to the expansion of her product range.
Owner Julia Ingham has been a Darwen Market trader for over 11 years. She started back in 2007 in the three day market before moving to Darwen Market Annexe a couple of years ago.
Tease Your Tastebuds boasts a range of homemade pies, scones, sausage rolls and a soup of the day. Other items for sale include locally sourced cakes, biscuits, breads, preserves and chutneys – there are even sherry trifles on offer around Christmas time!
The new look stall provides a larger preparation area for Julie to bake her tasty treats, as well as a counter and shelving where people can feast their eyes on the delicious produce for sale.
Julie said:
I am really pleased with the new stall and customers have been very complimentary about the look of it. They especially like the walk in counter area where they can browse the cakes, biscuits and preserves.
“The new products are also doing really well. We are going to be supplying a range of sauces from local companies, the first batch should be coming next week and we have a new sausage roll that has been flying out – it is pork with sweet apple chutney. I am working hard to keep up with the demand for those, which is a good sign!”
Cllr Phil Riley, Executive Member for Regeneration, said:
This is a very positive outcome for Julie and Darwen Market. It is good to see that people are choosing to support their local market, allowing businesses such as this to expand and thrive. ”
