A brand new careers service is being launched in Blackburn with Darwen.

New Directions is a career, information and advice service for young people aged 16 to 19 within Blackburn and Darwen. It can provide you with the support you need to enter into employment, education or training. This can include information on college courses, employment, training courses, apprenticeships, volunteering opportunities and advice and guidance.

To introduce New Directions, two launch events are being held by the team of friendly advisors to give you with the careers support you need.

The launches will showcase the careers service and you can also find out about the latest employment, education and training from a wide range of colleges and training providers in the area who will be available on the day.

Councillor Dave Harling, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Executive Member for Schools and Education, said:

This looks set to be a great advice service and will help young people right across the borough to find out about the right track and best career path for them. I hope a lot of school leavers come along and have a chat with the advisors and find out all about the exciting directions they can take.”
