The Council is now encouraging people to submit formal representations as part of the statutory planning process until June 14, however comments will be accepted up until the application is presented Planning and Highway Committee. These must be made in writing to planning@blackburn.gov.uk or by post to: Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council , Growth and Development Department, Planning Service, 1st Floor, One Cathedral Square, Blackburn , BB1 1FP

You can view all of the plans and documents submitted with the applications by using the application reference number 10/19/0495 in the search box on the Council’s planning application website.

The planning statement and executive summary gives a comprehensive overview of the proposal.

A decision is expected to be made in August.

Councillor Phil Riley, Blackburn with Darwen Executive Member for Growth and Development said:

“We are really pleased with the quality and quantity of engagement that’s taken place so far about this proposed development which could put the borough in the forefront of environmental technologies. It’s also important to stress that there will be other opportunities for people to have a say ahead of any decision being made.”
