Although the severe weather associated with Storm Dennis has passed, Blackburn with Darwen Council is urging residents to stay flood aware.
A page on the Council’s new website provides information on flooding emergencies including different types of flood warnings, what to do to prepare yourself and your family from floods and what to do when flooding happens.
A new website called The Flood Hub has also been launched to provide local flood advice and information to help householders, businesses, communities and landowners across the North West become more flood resilient.
The website features information about planning and preparing for flood events. There’s also a local area map, containing information about flood schemes, community groups and events across the North West, as well as a ‘Knowledge Hub’ containing downloadable resources and booklets to increase your knowledge and awareness about flooding.
To find out more visit the Flood Hub website.
The Government has information on preparing for flooding online. You can also check your home’s flood risk and get advice and guidance.
Flood Re also provides information on affordable and available flood-based home insurance.
