Service users and employees at Stansfeld Day Centre have been bequeathed a legacy of £1000 by the daughter of the late Dorothy Sutcliffe.

Stansfeld Day Centre in Blackburn is a day centre for adults with a learning disability or dementia.

Dorothy’s daughter Carolyn Sutcliffe said:

Everyone was so willing to accommodate our mum.   Such a lot of effort had gone into creating a wonderful environment for service users.  It’s thanks to you all that I was able to keep mum at home for so long.  My sisters and I are immensely grateful.  We all felt that we would like to acknowledge the work you do at Stansfeld by making a gift in memory of our mum.

Service users purchased an iPad and craft items for the centre with the donation.  Employees at Stansfeld Centre and Transport Services were also given a £10 gift voucher in acknowledgment of their care for Dorothy.

A special plaque in memory of Dorothy has now been installed in the centre’s garden.

Everyone at Stansfeld Centre would like to say a big thank you to Dorothy’s daughter and family for their very kind gift.
