People have been getting creative taking photos of Blackburn Bus Station since it opened.

A selection of them can be found on Flickr here: http://bit.ly/BlackburnBusStation

The talented photographers, inspired by the architecture, are helping to show off the bus station ahead of the judges from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) visiting Blackburn.

It is up against tough competition from 11 other impressive buildings across the North West, including  Liverpool Philarmonic, Oldham Town Hall and City Football Academy in Manchester for the prestigious RIBA North West award.

Photos have shared on the popular Facebook group Photographs of Blackburn, showing some amazing scenes of the bus station from different viewpoints.

Blackburn Bus Station was designed by Capita working on behalf of Blackburn with Darwen Council. Completed in April 2016, the station is part of the Pennine Reach rapid bus transport scheme which aims to improve public transport connectivity within East Lancashire, reduce journey times, and improve passenger facilities.

The annual RIBA North West awards celebrate architecture in the North West. The short-listed projects will be visited by RIBA judges over the coming weeks with the winners receiving their awards at a ceremony in May.
