Young and old stood shoulder to shoulder at a flag raising ceremony to support Armed Forces Day.
Pupils from several schools joined members of the armed forces, cadets and the public at the event outside Blackburn Town Hall.
A minute’s silence was held before the Armed Forces Day flag was raised in glorious sunshine.
Dignitaries who attended included the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Council, Councillor Pat McFall, and Kam Kothia, Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire.
Armed Forces Day is an annual, national campaign that gives everyone the opportunity to show their support for the men and women of the armed forces past and present.
