An open event is taking place this month to show what is available through the Short Term Breaks Service, which gives the opportunity with a learning disability to enjoy a short break.
Taking place on Saturday, 31 January between 11am and 3pm, the event allows carers and those they care for to visit the facilities, such as the five guest bedrooms and one-bedroom apartment
Based on St Aidans Avenue in Mill Hill, Blackburn, the service has adaptions and equipment to meet the needs of people with learning/physical disabilities, with support offered by trained staff.
Cllr Mohammed Khan, Executive Member for Health and Adult Social Care said:
Short term breaks are a great way to experience greater independence in a social and safe environment, and I would encourage carers and those they care for to attend this open day, and see the services that are available.
