A documentary film maker is inviting people to come and share their memories of Blackburn and Darwen.

Liam St-Pierre originally from Blackburn now based in the capital, is making a series of films about the borough’s past and interviewing residents about some of their fondest memories.

The film will feature interviews with party-goers who went along to Tony’s Ballroom that hosted the famous Northern Soul all-nighters and also those who enjoyed regular nights out in Darwen.

Liam is also keen to speak to people who went along to Holy Trinity Church including people who got married there, went to Sunday school or sang in the choir.

The final films will be screened in March as part of the Found in Blackburn Project, a creative exploration into Blackburn’s past where local artists have been delving into the town’s history and uncovering it’s hidden stories.

Found in Blackburn the project is being coordinated by University Centre at Blackburn College graduate Sophie Skellern and funded by the Arts Council and Heritage lottery fund.

Anyone wanting to take part can call 07702 799879 or email hiddenspacesfilm@gmail.com
