Are you a key worker and need help with childcare during this latest lockdown?
- If you are classed as a ‘key worker’ please see the full list, you can continue to access a school place so that you can continue to go to work.
- As per the government guidelines, Schools will need to see your work ID badge or payslip to clarify your ‘key worker’ status.
- Also, did you know that our borough’s nurseries and children’s centres remain open and are on hand to help anyone who needs it? You can get help with a place on the number below.
- Please be reassured that our borough’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) teams are still able to see children both in school and at home following Covid safe guidelines.
- It’s really important that any child who is struggling due to any additional needs continues to get the help and support that they need to flourish.
Cllr Julie Gunn said:
Education officers have worked closely with all of Blackburn with Darwen’s schools to ensure that they remain open to children in need and those whose parents are in key jobs.
We would like to thank our schools and education providers for following the Government’s advice on staying open for so long – it’s been a real challenge and continues to be for staff, pupils and parents.
I would like to thank everyone for playing their part, it’s only by working together that we will get rid of this terrible virus.
Now that schools have been asked to close to the majority of students, we have been putting arrangements in place for those who will continue to attend school.
Please do contact your own school if you need to access further support or a place for your child. There’s also further help available from the Families Information Service.
For any families who need any help or advice, just get in touch with our friendly team either via email: eydc.team@blackburn.gov.uk or by calling the Families Information Service on: 01254 667877
