Visitors to Blackburn town centre will be able follow the action at the Women’s World Cup, as England’s brave Lionesses get set to take on all comers.
Phil Neville’s side will be competing in the tournament in France with a selection of the action shown live on Blackburn with Darwen Council’s rotating digital screen, outside the town hall.
All of England’s group games will be shown kicking off with the massive game against Scotland on Sunday, 9 June at 5pm.
The games against Argentina (8pm on Friday, 14 June) and Japan (8pm on Wednesday, 19 June) will follow with more to come if the team progresses.
A selection of other games will also be shown live throughout the tournament, which finishes on Sunday, 7 July with the Final in Lyon.
Councillor Andy Kay, Executive Member for Resources, said:
Everyone at Blackburn with Darwen Council wishes the Lionesses all the best for the tournament. Let’s get a good atmosphere in the town centre for the selected screenings and roar them on to victory. All are welcome for what promises to be a fantastic occasion.
