Bus services in Blackburn with Darwen are bucking the national trend with an increase of 38% in services, providing more reliable transport for residents.
That’s why travellers in Blackburn with Darwen are being reminded to take up the fantastic offers provided by Lancashire Bus Services to get out and about this springtime as the borough’s bus services continue to thrive.
With the nights getting lighter people can enjoy traveling across the borough and take up the fantastic offer of £1 for a single trip after 7pm, 7 days a week in Blackburn with Darwen.
Leader of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Cllr Phil Riley, said:
It is fantastic news that we are offering a reliable service for our residents to travel between towns at an affordable price and a reliable service.
As we have so much to offer over the coming months it’s an ideal opportunity to take the bus and the reduced ticket prices are also a fantastic incentive for residents to reduce the number of car journeys they are making, working towards a greener, healthier borough for us all and fitting with the council’s Climate Emergency Action Plan.
Anthony Fiocca, General Manager at The Blackburn Bus Company, said:
We have been and still are very consistent in our approach in service delivery, despite the challenges we have encountered indirectly from post COIVD pandemic and Brexit, which I believe has instilled confidence in our customers in the services we provide.
These fantastic discounts will be available until at least 2025 and form part of the local Bus Service Improvement Plan, created in partnership with local bus providers and Lancashire County Council, which has received Department for Transport (DfT) funding of £34.1m for a range of measures to make our buses better.
The offers are in addition to the DfT’s initiative of three months of single bus fares for no more than £2 for a single journey, available until the end of June.
