HM Revenue & Customs are alerting people to a new text scam targeting the public which says ‘due to the current COVID-19 pandemic you have a pending tax rebate’.
The advice is – DO NOT click on the link to calculate your claim.
This is a SCAM.
Please be aware of scams, HMRC will never contact you out of the blue offering a tax refund.
You can report anything suspicious on the Gov UK website
