Blackburn with Darwen’s Registration Service is moving from King George’s Hall to Blackburn Town Hall on Monday, March 7.
It will be based in the reception area.
The last day of service at King George’s Hall is Thursday, March 3. The Register Office will be closed on Friday, March 4.
During the transition the Darwen and Hospital outstations will be open additional days. Unfortunately no express certificate production will be available during the transition.
On call emergency funeral service is available on March 5 and 6

Opening times will also remain the same: 9am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
After the relocation the Register Office at the Town Hall in Blackburn will hold marriage and civil partnership ceremonies only, these ceremonies will take place in a recently commissioned room which is specifically designed for smaller intimate ceremonies accommodating just the happy couple and two witnesses.
There is still a dedicated ceremony suite situated in the Northgate Suite, Northgate, Blackburn, for all types of civil ceremonies. This recently licensed suite for up to 100 guests offers a choice of different sized rooms for all party requirements.
