Everyone in Blackburn with Darwen can now access free, regular, rapid coronavirus testing.

The offer has been made as part of a new Government scheme.

Rapid testing for people without symptoms using lateral flow devices has been available in Blackburn with Darwen for several months at the three established sites at King George’s Hall, Ewood Park and Work at Over Darwen House.

And now residents can access test kits in order to test twice weekly in a number of extra ways too.

The Council is encouraging everyone to take up the free rapid testing offer, with a new public message of #TestAndGo.

People are encouraged to Test and Go before work, visiting the shops, hairdressers, outdoor hospitality and other businesses and services.

The Test and Go call will continue at all further stages of the roadmap and easing of restrictions.

Around 1 in 3 people with Covid-19 have no symptoms and are spreading it without knowing. That could be a relative, it could even be you.

Test results show within 30 minutes. They also show you you’re doing what you can to protect your loved ones.

It remains essential that anyone who gets a positive result from an LFD result self-isolates immediately, as must other members of their household, while they get a confirmatory PCR test within two days.
