Festive cheer is coming to Blackburn with Darwen this weekend with pop-up Christmas markets taking place in both towns.

Blackburn will see the return of the Holme Street, the new events and themed pop-up markets area at the heart of Blackburn Market.

On sale from local traders will be gifts for all the family including hand-made crafts from jewellery to woolly wonders.

In Darwen, local makers, artists and small businesses will be joining the fabulous regular traders at Darwen Market to sell a wonderful array of products.

Pay a visit and find unique Christmas gifts and pick up a festive foodie treat or two as well.

The pop-ups in both towns will run between 10am-4pm. With both markets now fully open following the end of the national lockdown this is a perfect time to visit.

For more information and regular market opening times visit Blackburn and Darwen Markets’ websites.

Cllr Phil Riley, Executive Member for Growth and Development, said:

We are delighted that this is able to go ahead and that local businesses are able to join our market traders this festive season. The run up to Christmas is such an important time for all businesses and this year more than ever we are encouraging people to shop local.

Over recent weeks, the market staff and the stall holders have worked incredibly hard to make the market Covid-safe and we all want residents  to start to enjoy shopping again but the safety of customers and staff is of paramount importance. Please remember to shop safely and follow social distancing guidelines.
