More local restaurants, schools and businesses have been given ‘Recipe 4 Health’ accreditation for offering healthy food options.
Over 200 places serving food have now been recognised by the Recipe 4 Health scheme, which is part of a Public Health drive for businesses to help with tackling ill-health and obesity in society.
The latest round of awards were presented by Cllr Brian Taylor, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Executive Member for Health and Adult Social Care.
He said:
The Recipe 4 Health campaign is a brilliant way to promote healthy eating and smart food choices all across the borough. It’s fantastic that even more places that serve food are signing up to it.
I want to congratulate everyone who has received the award from nurseries and schools to takeaways, shops and restaurants across the borough. They should all be commended for boosting their healthier options which help people of all ages across the borough.
Newly accredited ‘Recipe 4 Health’ places are: Olive school; St Peters C of E Primary, Darwen; Acorn House Care home; Longfield Care home; Original Sandwich bar, Whalley Banks, Blackburn; Evolution child care; Northwood Care Home; Holly Mount Care Home and Rainbow Nursery.
