A Darwen nursery marked its 60th anniversary by planting a tree, releasing balloons and a firework display.
Turncroft Nursery were joined by past and present pupils, parents and teachers to celebrate the important milestone.
The Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Councillor Alan Cottam, Mayoress Agnes Cottam, Councillor Kate Hollern, leader of the Council, and ward Councillor John Roberts helped mark the special occasion.
Pictures from the year the nursery was opened were on display.The event, sponsored by Your Call, Four Seasons garden centre and Sainsbury’s had lots of activities for the children as well as morris dancing from little one.
The nursery was deemed outstanding by Ofsted inspectors in 2011.
