This morning was another fresh, bright morning in Witton Park. Michelle and Sally were taking part in the Anglezarke Amble so this week’s Run Directors were Bryan Searby and Sean Procter.
This week we volunteered as a family. Myself and my daughter as well as my sister and her son arrived bright and early.
I delivered the new runner’s brief, the safety announcements and started the race. This was great fun as I got to use the loudhailer. I am sure all who know me will agree that this probably wasn’t necessary.
Once the runners were off I then went to the nearest marshalling spot at the crossroads so that I could cheer everyone as they passed.
It was great to see how much everyone enjoyed the run today and the weather was very kind to us.
If anybody would like to get involved with volunteering I say give it a go. It feels really rewarding to support runners of all abilities.
